Of Chocolate Ice Cream and Lopsided BreastsMr. Stump stalks past my desk with his usual dark demeanor, his unbuttoned trench coat whipping behind him in a dramatic fashion. He stops twice on his journey to the front of the classroom to slam the shudders on the windows shut, blocking our view of the pouring rain. Once in front of twenty pairs of drooping eyes, he rips the soaking coat off of his body and places it on the back of his grey rolling chair.Of Chocolate Ice Cream and Lopsided Breasts by AlainHotCoco
Everything seems so grey while in this classroom. Our desks are the standard, hard piece of wood with an attached chair. Their color seems to have faded with age, stealing any form of happiness from whoever uses them. The walls stand bare, no motivational posters or class projects to be seen. Even though we all think at some point that hanging our work on the walls, or even a poster reading “We love math!” is lame, it really makes the world of a difference in regards to brightening our days.
Mr. Stump rips the projection screen down over the overused whiteboard and tur
I Dreamed A DreamYou aren't the only one who can dream.I Dreamed A Dream by AlainHotCoco
I dreamed a dream once too, you know.
I dreamed that you would be understanding.
I dreamed that it would hurt you less than it would hurt me,
In fact, I tried to make that so.
I dreamed that we could start over one day.
That things would be different.
That we wouldn't always be angry.
That we wouldn't serve as target practice for each other.
But I guess it will stay that way.
I guess we'll live each day in vain
Until one of us finally makes a bulls eye.
I guess it will stay only but a dream.
InsidiousThe kingdom has fallen.Insidious by AlainHotCoco
Peril and destruction lie in its wake.
Our burning light is consumed by darkness
With every last breath that I take.
The King and Queen are fresh in their new beds
While the towers, built with bride, still fall.
And with every last tear that I do not shed,
I refuse to beg, or plead, or call.
I lie there in the dirt with blood on my face
As the world around me begins to sober.
But I show no remorse, not a single trace,
As I wait for the darkness to take over.
Beowulf in a NutshellAfter hearing rumor of a monster that hailsBeowulf in a Nutshell by AlainHotCoco
Great hatred, Beowulf set sail
To free Herot from a twelve year murdering spree,
Which left blood smeared on the walls so freely.
On Beowulf’s instruction, his team hid in the dark
And waited for Grendel, on whom Beowulf would surely leave a mark.
Upon Grendel’s arrival, Beowulf and his men
Leap out of bed attacking, planning to send
The scaled fiend back to Hell,
But soon found that their swords could not penetrate his shell.
Beowulf, however, saw through this charm
And with his bare hands, ripped off Grendel’s whole arm.
With a shout of pain, Grendel began to flee
While the noble warriors rejoiced with glee.
But the war between man and monster was not over,
For Grendel’s mother allowed no such disclosure.
Her son had died and she sought revenge,
So she retaliated by slaughtering the King’s closest friend.
This day, Beowulf decided, the witch would rue,
For he left for her pond in heavy pursuit
Of a battle to th

White fuzz dotted your vision as you stared up at the half lit screen, fingers clasping the edges of the phone as if it where your lifeline. Slowly you placed your phone down onto the bed, trying desperately to make as little noise as possible against the twisted blue sheets wrapped around your chest. Inhaling sharply you squeezed your eyes shut, attempting to replay the events of last night. Unfortunately your memory was a mess of hazy bar music, a mystery amount of liquor and your friends shouting about enjoying the last days of summer. Groggily you ran your palms down your face, the ache of a severe hangover encompassing your entire skull.
Someone shifted beside you making you freeze, the soft morning light had pushed its way through the curtains, running tangerine strips across your face and shoulders. The scent of mint weighed heavily on the pillow beneath your
